"Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food." Hippocrates
We can provide no better service to the developing world than to assist them to return to their natural diet and educate them to avoid at all costs the trappings of the Standard American Diet that is killing people in the US at an alarming rate. Throughout 2008, BWWB will be investigating how to implement Dr. Gabriel Cousen's program into Sri Lanka and every country where diabetes has climbed to one of the most treated illnesses in the hospital system. There is no more profound way to impact the health and well being of these challenged populations than revisiting Nature's health care system, it's food.

Our blog is now up and running. Please visit www.bodyworkerswithoutborders.blogspot.com to post a comment. My hope is that this provides a forum for others to share their experiences and points of view regarding the introduction of holistic healing protocols into International Aid Networks in developing countries.
Also, sign up for our forthcoming newsletter, The International Bodyworker set to come out in early October. This will provide brief summaries and links to new developments for BWWB as well as articles and ways to get involved and become part of this innovative movement.
On August 16th, 2007, Real Medicine Foundation held its second annual Fund Raiser at the Lladro Gallery on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The turnout was overwhelming and the buzz created by Real Medicine's successes will be heard for months to come. In just under 2 years they are operating in 9 countries and helping over 120,000 people.

Angels in the Dust
Recently BWWB was invited by CEO of Real Medicine, Dr. Martina Fuchs and Terri Ford, Director of International Advocacy for Aidshealth.org to attend the New York premier viewing of "Angels in the Dust" by Academy Award Winning Director, Louise Hogarth, which details the plight of children orphaned by the HIV/AIDS epidemic in South Africa. The film itself was a triumph and gave a disturbing glimpse of the pervasive sexual abuse and rape that is a tragic and leading cause of the spread of this fatal disease.
BWWB is working to develop a program to train therapists and lay caregivers working with survivors of sexual abuse both domestically and internationally to help with the emotional and physical trauma associated with this ordeal.

Initiative Visitations to pre-schools, villages, hospital and meetings – 25hrs.
Liaison activity:
• Arranged for Psychological and Physiotherapy Services to be provided by Navajeevana for Real Medicine
Foundation’s Yayawatta outpatient clinic
• Observed the installation of the Water Clay Sterilizer donated by Direct Relief International as arranged
by Real Medicine Foundation for Tangalle Hospital
• Partnered members of Archmacharya Foundation with DWC, Developing World Connections.org and
Yayawatta Village to support sustainable gardening, recycling, solid waste management and community education
Other:
• Donated funds for 600 meal packets for the Navajeevana’s New Year’s Celebration for the Disabled

disabled.
• Provided Art Classes and supplies to children at Real Medicine Yayawatta Village Clinic
Note: Our only regret is that the massage tables donated by Oakworks Massage Table Co. have yet to get to Sri Lanka. The shipping expense is three times the cost of tables themselves and, our friends at Direct Relief International explained that customs in Sri Lanka is still rather corrupt and that even if the tables were to arrive, chances are they wouldn't make it to Navajeevana. DRI hasn't shipped anything there for two years. Currently we are exploring avenues through local Rotary Clubs and the Rotary club in Columbo, Sri Lanka. We'll keep you posted. Also a special thanks to Mira El, an American who attended my first workshop who donated and additional two tables to Navajeevana for a total of four tables, enough to refit their entire PT department. Special thanks to those at Rocky Point Beach Bungalows for your generous contribution.
